1. Overview
Lali is designed as a private memoir archive rather than a public social platform. The app is intended to store memories, notes, images, chapters, dialogue entries, memoir drafts, and archive settings primarily on the user's device. Lali does not provide a public profile, public feed, or built-in public posting feature.
In general, Lali follows a local-first approach. That means the core archive is stored on-device, and export files are only created when the user chooses to generate them.
2. Information We Handle
Lali may handle the following categories of information:
- Memoir content you create or import, including titles, notes, summaries, people, places, tags, and chapter assignments.
- Media you choose to add, such as photos or other selected assets imported through system-provided pickers.
- Local archive records such as activity entries for imports, exports, privacy-related actions, and security setting changes.
- App preferences such as theme style, font size, reduced motion preferences, privacy panel preferences, and optional local lock settings.
- Export and backup files that are generated only when you request a local export, such as JSON backups or PDF memoir documents.
Lali does not operate a public user account system in the current app version. If you contact us by email, we will receive the information you include in that message, such as your email address and support request.
3. How Information Is Used
Lali uses handled information only for the operation of the memoir experience, including to:
- Display, organize, search, and edit your private memory archive on your device.
- Generate memoir chapters, reading views, relationship views, and other in-app organization features.
- Create local exports, including backup files and PDF memoir outputs, when you ask the app to do so.
- Apply your selected appearance, readability, and local security settings.
- Maintain a local transparency trail for privacy-related actions, import records, export records, and security changes.
We do not sell your personal information, rent it, or use Lali as an advertising or data brokerage product.
4. Local Storage and Retention
The current version of Lali stores archive data locally on the device. Images and archive records are saved in the app's local storage area. Backup files and exported documents are generated locally when you request them.
Because Lali is local-first, you are responsible for deciding whether to keep, export, copy, move, or delete your archive. If you delete content or remove the app without creating your own backup, the content may no longer be recoverable.
Deleted memories may remain in an in-app trash area until you restore or permanently remove them. Exported files may remain in the destination you selected until you delete them yourself.
5. Permissions and Device Access
Lali may request or use system features in the following ways:
- Photo import access through Apple's picker so that you can choose images or media to include in your memoir archive.
- Optional biometric protection, if enabled by you, to add a local lock layer to the archive experience.
- File export or sharing controls when you choose to generate a backup or export a PDF memoir document.
If biometric protection is enabled, biometric information is handled by the operating system. Lali does not receive, store, or process your raw fingerprint or face scan data.
When media is imported through a system picker, Lali only receives the items you explicitly choose. Lali does not need a public social graph, public contact list, or public posting permission to provide the current app experience.
6. Purchases and Apple Services
Lali includes in-app purchases processed through Apple StoreKit. Purchase transactions, billing information, and payment methods are handled by Apple under Apple's own terms and privacy practices. We do not receive your full payment card number.
The app may store local records related to successful coin purchases or coin balance updates so purchased features can be reflected inside the app experience on the device.
7. Security and User Controls
We aim to design Lali as a calm, trustworthy memoir space, but no storage or software environment can be guaranteed to be completely secure. You should use the security tools available to you, including device passcodes, system protections, and any optional biometric lock or gesture lock features provided by the app.
You control important privacy actions, including whether to:
- Import media or write memoir content.
- Enable or disable optional local privacy and lock features.
- Export backup files or PDF memoirs.
- Delete, restore, or permanently remove content.
8. Children
Lali is not directed to children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe a child has provided information through the app in a way that requires action, please contact us so we can review the issue.
9. Policy Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect product changes, legal requirements, or operational updates. When we do, we will update the effective date shown at the top of this page. Your continued use of Lali after an update means you accept the revised Privacy Policy to the extent permitted by applicable law.
