User Agreement

This User Agreement sets the rules for using Lali, a local-first memoir app for creating and organizing private life archives. By downloading, accessing, or using Lali, you agree to the terms below. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

Effective Date: April 7, 2026 Applies to: Lali iOS App Focus: Personal memoir archive and local content control

1. Acceptance of Terms

By using Lali, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to this User Agreement and the related Privacy Policy. If you are using Lali on behalf of another person or household archive, you are responsible for ensuring you have authority to do so.

2. Description of the Service

Lali is a personal memoir and memory archive app. It is designed to help users collect, organize, read, and revisit memories, including photos, notes, chapter structures, dialogue entries, themed collections, exports, and archive settings.

Lali is not a public social network, not a marketplace, and not a public publishing platform in its current form. The app is built around private, local-first use.

3. Eligibility and Proper Use

You may use Lali only in compliance with applicable law and only for lawful purposes. You are responsible for the way you store, import, write, and export your own memoir materials.

If you are under the age required to enter a binding agreement in your jurisdiction, you may use Lali only with the involvement of a parent or legal guardian.

4. Your Content and Responsibilities

You retain ownership of the content you create or import into Lali. You are solely responsible for making sure you have the rights, permissions, and legal basis necessary to store or use that content.

  • You are responsible for the accuracy, legality, and sensitivity of the memoir content you add.
  • You must not use Lali to store or distribute content that violates privacy rights, intellectual property rights, or applicable law.
  • If you include information about other people, you are responsible for handling that information lawfully and appropriately.

Lali may help structure, display, group, and export your archive, but it does not independently verify the truth, ownership, or legal status of the content you provide.

5. Prohibited Conduct

You agree not to:

  • Use Lali in violation of law, court order, or enforceable third-party rights.
  • Attempt to reverse engineer, interfere with, or disrupt the app beyond what applicable law expressly allows.
  • Use the app to store harmful, abusive, exploitative, or unlawful material.
  • Misrepresent the source, ownership, or permissions attached to memoir content or imported media.
  • Use in-app purchases, export tools, or app features in a fraudulent or abusive way.

6. Purchases and Virtual Coins

Lali may offer in-app purchases, including virtual coins or similar app-specific value units. Purchases are processed by Apple through StoreKit and are subject to Apple's billing terms, refund rules, and platform policies.

  • Virtual coins are licensed, not sold as property, and have no cash value unless required by law.
  • Virtual coins are non-transferable and may only be used inside Lali as permitted by the app.
  • Consumable purchases may not be restorable if Apple treats them as non-restorable items.
  • Except where required by law or Apple's rules, purchases are final once completed.

7. Intellectual Property

The app itself, including its visual design, code, structure, interface elements, branding, and related materials, is protected by applicable intellectual property laws. Except for your own content, no part of Lali may be copied, republished, or commercially exploited without permission, unless applicable law clearly allows it.

8. Backup, Export, and Deletion

Lali is designed around local storage. You are responsible for deciding whether to create backups, export memoir documents, keep copies, or delete materials. If you lose access to your device or remove the app without your own backup, your archive may not be recoverable.

Exported backups and PDF documents may remain in the location where you saved them until you remove them yourself. Deleted items may remain in an in-app trash area until you permanently clear them.

9. Disclaimers

Lali is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis to the maximum extent permitted by law. We do not guarantee that the app will always be uninterrupted, error-free, perfectly secure, or suitable for every archival or legal recordkeeping purpose.

Lali is a memoir and organization tool, not legal advice, not therapy, not a records compliance system, and not a substitute for your own backup, privacy, or security decisions.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of content, device access, profits, business, goodwill, or opportunities arising out of or related to your use of Lali. Your sole remedy if you are dissatisfied with Lali is to stop using the app.

11. Changes and Termination

We may update this User Agreement from time to time. When we do, we will post the revised version with an updated effective date. Your continued use of Lali after the effective date of the revised agreement means you accept the updated terms to the extent permitted by law.

We may suspend or end access to app functionality if necessary for legal, security, operational, or abuse-prevention reasons. You may stop using Lali at any time by removing the app and deleting your local data or exports.
